Use of AI in the Recruitment Proces

At Arm, we embrace the benefits AI can bring, including within recruitment, but we believe the heart of hiring lies in human connection.

AI can help you showcase your skills and expertise, but whatever you write or say as part of the interview process needs to accurately reflect your ways of working, critical thinking and technical abilities. Using AI appropriately in connection with your application is permitted (although of course is entirely optional). We have set out some guidance below, and will provide further guidance during the interview process, in relation to the dos and don’ts of using AI.

Our Approach: Refine, Don’t Replace

AI can support your application by improving clarity and confidence, but it should never replace your experiences or achievements.

Good ways to use AI:
  • Checking spelling, grammar or structure.
  • Refining phrasing for clarity.
  • Practicing interview questions or summarising job descriptions.

Avoid using AI to:
  • Invent or exaggerate experiences, examples or skills.
  • Generate full responses which are subsequently presented as your own either as written or verbal responses.

We want to get to know the real you, your perspective, creativity, and impact. That’s how we identify individuals who can challenge skillfully, think originally and help us keep pushing the limits of what’s possible.

Using AI During Application & Interview Stages

Applications: Use AI to polish your CV or written responses, but ensure examples reflect your genuine experience and personality.

Interview Preparation: Use AI to research roles, practice answers or explore industry trends, but don’t share confidential information.

Assessments & Live Interviews: You can practice with AI, but do not complete assigned tasks as part of any assessment using it. During live interviews, do not use AI to generate responses. If it becomes apparent that you are doing so, the interview may be brought to an end.

AI for Reasonable Adjustments

We’re committed to ensuring every candidate has a fair and accessible experience. If you plan to use AI tools as part of a reasonable adjustment (for example note-taking support), please contact us at accommodations@arm.com before your interview so we can support you appropriately.
