Arm Trondheim

Build the future of computing from Trondheim

In Trondheim, Arm engineers are helping shape the future of computing through GPU technology, engineering productivity, developer ecosystems and other specialist areas.

Around 250 colleagues work from our office at Teknostallen, making Trondheim Arm’s largest location in Norway. Together with our colleagues in Oslo, we’re part of a strong engineering community connected to teams across Arm globally.

Come here to tackle complex engineering problems, learn from people with deep technical expertise and contribute to technology with worldwide impact.

Where engineering disciplines connect

Trondheim brings together expertise across GPU, Productivity Engineering, Developer Ecosystem and Program and Project Management.

Our GPU community spans architecture, hardware, modelling, software and performance, while Productivity Engineering brings together expertise across engineering flows, standards and methodologies, AI transformation and FPGA development.

That breadth gives you opportunities to learn beyond your own specialism, exchange ideas with experts across disciplines and approach complex challenges from different perspectives.

Advance GPU technology

GPU engineering has deep roots in Trondheim, spanning graphics hardware and software, architecture, modelling and performance.

Graphics, compute and AI are increasingly converging. That’s opening up new possibilities in advanced gaming, hardware-based ray tracing, AI-enhanced rendering and neural graphics – alongside engineering challenges around performance, power and efficiency.

As part of Arm’s global GPU community, you can solve demanding technical problems in Trondheim while collaborating with specialists around the world.

Transform how engineering gets done

What if you could improve not just the technology we build, but the way we build it?

Our Productivity Engineering teams combine expertise in hardware design, verification and physical design with AI to rethink engineering at scale. Their work helps improve productivity and quality while enabling teams to make better power, performance and area (PPA) decisions.

The impact reaches across Arm. You could help shape engineering standards and methodologies, define quality practices for Soft IP and SoC development, or create solutions that make complex technology easier to build and integrate.

Improve an engineering method, flow or capability here, and you can help engineers across Arm build better technology.

Grow in the direction that interests you

Your career can take different directions at Arm. You might deepen your technical expertise, explore another area of technology, take on broader responsibilities or move into leadership.

You’ll learn through challenging projects, mentoring, technical communities and working with colleagues who bring different knowledge and perspectives.

Life at our Trondheim office

Our home is Teknostallen in Teknobyen, close to NTNU and SINTEF and surrounded by one of Norway’s strongest environments for technology, research and engineering.

There’s a special connection to our history here. The original Teknostallen was home to Falanx Microsystems, the Trondheim startup that became part of Arm in 2006 and helped lay the foundations for our GPU presence in Norway.

Today, Teknostallen combines elements of the original 1920s tram depot with a contemporary workplace centred around a large indoor garden. You’ll find spaces for focus and collaboration alongside fitness and cycling facilities, green spaces and a rooftop running track.

Sustainability is part of the building’s design too, from reused materials and energy-efficient systems to facilities supporting lower-impact ways to commute.

Beyond work, colleagues come together for activities including hiking, skiing, board games and curling, as well as volunteering and employee networks.

Considering a move to Trondheim?

Trondheim combines a thriving university and technology community with easy access to nature. The city is compact and easy to navigate, with restaurants, culture and a lively social scene, while forests, trails, skiing and the fjord are all close by.
If you’re moving from another country, you can build an international technology career within a strong academic and engineering community in a city where it’s easy to make the outdoors part of everyday life.
Bring your expertise, stay curious and help us build what’s next from Trondheim.
