One Million Minutes of Real-World Impact
Every employee at Arm receives a paid half-day each month to volunteer for a cause that matters to them. Through Team Arm, our global volunteering and community engagement programme, people are empowered to give back in ways that reflect their own values, whether that’s mentoring students, restoring ecosystems, delivering food support, or sharing technical skills with nonprofits.
But this wasn’t just about individuals using their monthly half-day in isolation. It was teams giving up their weekends for causes they care about. It was volunteering built into internal events, like The Big Picture, Arm’s onboarding experience where new joiners are introduced to Team Arm through hands-on community service from day one.
It is also about people using their technical expertise to create lasting value. Many chose to volunteer their engineering skills, mentoring nonprofits, advising mission-driven startups, or helping to solve complex global problems with technology. Volunteering has become an opportunity for Arm employees to apply their knowledge in new, purpose-led ways, beyond their day jobs.
“It was fast-paced, a little hectic at times, and such a meaningful way to give back together as a team.”
— Rachael, after packing 4,000 hygiene kits with her Austin teammates
During the campaign, participation rose by 159%, and total time given increased by 89%. More than just metrics, those numbers represent people showing up with energy, intention, and a shared belief that their work, inside and outside the office, should have a meaningful impact.
“I feel honored to be part of this fantastic team and the environment that encourages us to contribute to the betterment of the world.”
— Parveen, Team Arm volunteer for over eight years
Bringing Values to Life
At Arm, we believe in doing things that scale, whether it’s our technology or our global impact. Volunteering is one way we live out the 10x Mindset: aiming not just for incremental improvement, but for transformation.
That mindset came to life during the One Million Minutes campaign. People didn’t just meet the goal, they beat it, because they believed in the impact it could have. They gave their time, rallied their teams, and brought others along for the journey.
Volunteering has become part of how people experience life at Arm. It builds momentum, fosters trust, and deepens the connection between colleagues, communities, and purpose.
And when that purpose is combined with technical expertise, the impact grows. For many, volunteering wasn’t separate from their work. It was a chance to apply their engineering mindset to real-world challenges—using their skills to support underserved communities, build digital tools for social good, or mentor the next generation of problem-solvers.
