Job Overview:
Arm is seeking a skilled, experienced , and highly motivated Staff Software Engineer located in Sophia Antipolis to join our Software Engineering group.
As a member of the System Solutions team, you will help enable the evolution of the Arm AGI CPU software ecosystem, developing production-quality firmware and low-level system software for next-generation Arm platforms. You will work with a highly skilled, distributed engineering team across Arm’s worldwide engineering centres.
Responsibilities:
You will contribute directly to software design, implementation, validation, and debugging, while providing technical mentorship and helping to raise engineering standards across the team. You will bring strong embedded software fundamentals and proven hands-on experience in solving complex system-level problems spanning firmware, hardware, and operating systems.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C, memory management, concurrency, interrupts, low-level hardware interaction and memory-mapped I/O.
- Good understanding of computer architecture, preferably with strong knowledge of the Arm architecture.
- Understanding of memory hierarchy, cache coherency, memory ordering and multicore systems, and the ability to apply these concepts during software development and debugging.
- Experience with software performance analysis and the ability to identify and investigate performance bottlenecks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently investigate complex technical problems while collaborating effectively with other engineering disciplines.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Experience developing and validating production-quality firmware for server or datacentre platforms.
- Experience with server firmware and system software technologies such as Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A), UEFI/EDK II, OpenBMC or Linux kernel.
- Understanding of server architecture and technologies such as RAS, PCIe, CXL, NUMA, virtualization/hypervisors and power management.
- Experience with Secure Boot, measured boot, hardware root of trust and firmware security architectures
