Job Overview:
This position will be based at Arm’s office in Sophia, France and it requires working across Arm’s Solutions Engineering, Quality and Partner Enablement teams to provide silicon support and education to global partners.
Arm delivers silicon solutions at the SoC, Compute Sub-Systems and IP block level. Customers buy solutions based on a balance of their TTM needs and the degree of configuration and specialization requirements for their target application. Arm’s Partner Enablement Group ensures that all customers obtain maximum value from their investments in Arm technology
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Engineer to act as the primary technical interface for our engineering customers consuming RTL soft-IP, silicon IP, droplets, chiplets, and hardware boards. This role requires a strong background in microelectronics and silicon systems and excellent interpersonal skills for managing partner relationships
Responsibilities:
Through Arm’s SoC programs, we are generating a body of knowledge and experience that can be re-purposed to help our customers de-risk and shorten their own silicon development cycles. Recycling includes generation and delivery of training material, app notes and white papers, as well as providing solutions to customer problems presented through tickets.
This is a new technology for Arm’s Partner-Enablement team, and you will be at the fore of building our capability. Initially, you will work closely with Arm’s Silicon Validation and System Test teams, based in India, and USA, as they deliver Arm’s own silicon roadmap.
Collaborating closely with Arm internal teams (Project, R&D, QA) to engage with customers as the primary technical liaison at all stages of their SoC development supporting:
- Drive successful integration and adoption of RTL soft-IP, chiplets, and board-level products.
- Proactively handle customer issues and provide technical guidance and debugging support at SoC & Board levels
- Tracking of customer projects and issues to completion using clear messaging and documentation of next steps and with clear understanding of escalation-paths etc.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Qualified candidates will have a good university degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical subject area.
- 7+ years of proven experience in the semiconductor/microelectronics industry.
- Prior experience in Field Applications Engineering (FAE), Design Services, Systems Engineering, or Technical Program Management is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of RTL design, synthesis, and SoC integration. (Verilog/SystemVerilog)
- Familiarity with silicon IP (standard cells, memories, PLLs, PHYs) and chiplet-based designs.
- Documented experience of silicon tape-out projects and real-world silicon debug.
- Knowledge of EDA flows, digital/analog verification, and Design-For-Test (DFT) principles.
- Experience in board-level hardware design, bring-up, and validation.
- Expose to software/software stack development as well as hardware-software co-design. Firmware development is a plus.
- Ability to write code for scripting/automation.
- Proven track record to manage technical customer engagements and driving to resolve issues effectively in a multi-team environment whilst maintaining issue ownership.
- Be comfortable adopting and supporting new technologies/tools and processes.
- Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ability to represent Arm with confidence & integrity in direct, customer-facing interactions.
- Creativity, fast thinking, strong motivation, and excellent communications skills including the development & delivery of technical presentations.
- Ability to think on their feet, especially in front of customers and to provide timely, logical and accurate problem analysis.
- Have a strong ability to work and think independently.
- Excellent communication skills: listening, understanding and persuading.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Additional languages are a plus.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to effectively work alone with no requirement for day-to-day management.
- Work as a member of a geographically diverse team demonstrating a positive attitude and respect for all members of the team.
- Must have the desire and ability to solve problems quickly and meet stated delivery schedules.
- Be motivated to continuously develop skills and accept a variety of responsibilities while contributing to Arm’s success.
- Willingness to travel at short notice. Including US, UK, India and China, spending significant periods of time on customer sites and for learning trips.
- Hold a valid passport which can allow wide-ranging travel under numerous visa-free/waiver agreements.

- Understanding of multi-die development methodologies
- SoC power & thermal management.
- Understanding of the principals of DFT/DFY/DFM/DFx
- Knowledge of IC Packaging
- ATE experience.
- Field returns handling & logistics.
- Expericence of running training courses.
- Understanding of ARM system architectures and end market applications.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications and their use.
- Knowledge of ARM technology, culture and the business model.
