Senior Principal Windows NPU Driver Architect

Overview:

Arm's Machine Learning team are taking our ground breaking Neural Network accelerator technology into Windows based devices to help ignite the next-generation of AI use-cases. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can draw on their technical experience to lead the technical design of a new driver stack. Someone to set the technical direction of our software engineering teams and whom is continually learning and adapting, helping us chart a course through this fast-paced technology revolution. This role involves working with cross-site, diverse and multi-disciplined teams across Arm's worldwide engineering centers.

Responsibilities:

Working with a diverse group of world leading architects, you will:

  • Identify, define and guide investigations needed to discover and inform how the driver should work and evolve.
  • Design key components of the driver, presenting your design and ideas to respective engineering teams who will implement them.
  • Engage with multi-functional teams of hardware engineers, AI technologists, and software developers up and down the stack and collaborate on ideas for improvements to ensure we have a smooth and polished overall solution.
  • Assess feature gaps and performance challenges in our driver software, exploring solution space to address them. Judge relative priorities and help keep a balance between contending needs.
  • Keep yourself up-to-date with the latest driver specifications and industry trends, working with industry partners and building a your professional network.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Experience in DirectX 11/12 driver architecture and development, both UMD and KMD, in particular with driver memory management, resource binding, and synchronization.
  • C/C++ software development background and experience on Windows platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of computer system fundamentals with an inquiring mind and keenness to lean
  • Experience in requirements analysis, software architecture definition, and documentation.
  • Stong personal skills and comfort working in a highly collaborative way, influencing rather than directing others.

Nice to haves :

  • Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Prefer semiconductor technical background.
