Are you curious about how powerful computers and AI systems are built — from the chips inside to the datacenters that run them? In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience designing, testing, and analyzing the hardware and software that make next-generation computing possible.
You will be part of a team of engineers who work across multiple domains — from processors and memory to cooling systems and automation tools. Together, you’ll explore how electrical and computer engineering principles shape the future of high-performance and energy-efficient computing systems.
Whatyou'll be doing as a Systems Engineering Intern:
During your internship, you’ll take part in projects that combine hardware, firmware, and software engineering. You might:
- Help design and test CPU and high speed IO subsystems, learning how to measure and improve performance, power, and reliability.
- Work with engineers on system-level validation and automation, creating scripts and tools to streamline testing and data analysis.
- Explore emerging IO technologies (like PCIeG6 and 800G Ethernet) and how they support advanced computing workloads.
- Support investigations into power, cooling, and energy efficiency, including liquid cooling systems for high-performance processors.
- Collaborate across teams to understand how different components — from chips to full systems — come together in real-world platforms.
You’ll apply what you’ve learned in class while gaining exposure to tools and methods used in modern hardware design and system development. Along the way, you’ll be supported by experienced mentors who will help guide your technical and professional growth!
We are looking for individuals who:
Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD or equivalent experience program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Experience with hands-on lab testing, performing measurements with power meters, oscilloscopes or logic analyzers.
- Experience in at least one programming or scripting language (such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB)
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding how hardware and systems work.
- Curiosity about technology beyond the classroom — such as personal projects, hackathons, or research work.
- An ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly and adapt to complex engineering challenges.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to collaborate across fields.
In Return:
Working on interesting new projects with leaders in the field is exciting, but we also know how important it is to receive support. That's why throughout your internship, you can expect regular feedback and development opportunities, social activities to connect with your peers, an end of internship celebration, plus the opportunity to be *considered for future Graduate positions (*subject to performance). #getreadytogrow
