Arm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who joins us in building an automotive reference software stack for our next generation compute subsystems in the context of software-defined and AI-driven vehicles. You will work closely with our firmware experts and architects across our engineering domains to deliver robust, optimized systems that shows the outstanding capabilities of our platforms.
We seek individuals with exposure, knowledge and excitement about all aspects of the system software stack at firmware level, covering compute, vision, AI and safety/security subsystems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and integrate core software of our automotive reference software stack enabling our customers to efficiently use our embedded compute, AI, safety and security components.
- Building the core firmware and device drivers for our automotive compute subsystems.
- Driving the configuration and bring-up of our Yocto-based Linux deployments.
- Analyze and optimize CPU, GPU, I/O, and memory usage across all system components.
- Help plan and prioritize engineering work packages in coordination with project management and tech leadership.
- Mentor other engineers and uphold high code quality and maintainability standards.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of prior experience designing and developing firmware and, device drivers as well as working at OS kernel-level.
- Strong skills in C and Assembly with deep expertise in low-level compute infrastructures.
- Practical experience in board bring-up, bare metal programming and/or Yocto development.
- Knowledge in Arm architectures as well as the Arm Trusted Firmware is highly preferred.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Practical experience with additional system programming languages, such as C++ or Rust.
- Fluency in scripting languages such as Python and/or Bash.
- Zephyr RTOS or Free/SafeRTOS development.
- Familiarity with open source projects such as TF-A, TF-M, U-Boot and Xen.
- Knowledge about automotive standards, protocols and software stacks as well as a good understanding of the automotive safety domain.
