Ready to put ideas from university to work on real hardware challenges? At Arm in Lund, we develop neural accelerators for machine learning applications ranging from mobile devices and smart homes to autonomous vehicles.
We offer master’s thesis projects where students work alongside engineers, build prototypes and test new approaches to hardware verification. Bring curiosity, try out fresh ideas and help us improve the way we verify hardware!
Master’s Thesis Projects:
Here are our current hardware verification projects:
- LLM Assisted Coverage Closure in Hardware Verification – Develop and evaluate a workflow using an AI coding agent for functional and code coverage closure in industrial UVM testbenches, assessing verification quality, engineering effort and LLM token usage.
- Graph-Based Analysis of Hardware Verification Stimuli – Investigate how structural patterns and relationships in directed attributed graphs can reveal insights into verification coverage, anomalies, and diversity.
Applications for alternative thesis projects are also welcome and should include a detailed proposal outlining the suggested work.
We are looking for individuals who:
Applicants must be currently enrolled and studying towards a master’s degree, with affiliation to a Swedish university or college, including through an exchange programme.
- A strong interest in hardware verification.
- A basic understanding of machine learning and neural networks, along with solid maths skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Keen to learn new things and try different ways to solve problems.
- Enjoy working with others and sharing ideas.
- Pay attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
Additional Information:
Applications should specify the project of interest and include an English CV and university transcript (grade sheet). Students applying as a pair should submit one joint application containing both applicants’ English CVs and university transcripts.
Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the role is based, without relying on sponsorship by Arm, for the full duration of the master's thesis project.
In Return:
We’ll support our thesis students with regular feedback and opportunities to develop practical skills and learn from engineers working on machine learning hardware. Social activities also offer a chance to get to know the team and experience life at Arm!
A one-time payment of SEK 60,000 is provided upon project completion. #getreadytogrow
