Job Overview:
As an Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) Engineer within Arm’s Silicon Quality Group, you will focus on electrical failure analysis, leveraging your expertise in testing and failure analysis to support debug activities across the entire silicon lifecycle—from early validation to mass production and in-field quality cases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of failures, provide timely debug support for customer returns, and ensure product quality and reliability meet the highest standards. Join us and be part of shaping the future of silicon quality!
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) using fault isolation techniques such as LADA, LVP, DLS, and TIVA for defect localization.
- Collaborate with the Test Engineering (TE) team to analyze ATE/SLT data, debug test programs, and improve test coverage and defect detection.
- Conduct LVX (low-voltage characterization, Vmin/Fmax, shmoo) investigations to identify design, process, or reliability issues.
- Support field quality and RMA cases, providing timely root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Prepare and deliver 8D/RCCA reports, ensuring proper closure of customer and field issues.
- Document analysis results clearly and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, test, reliability, and supply chain teams to drive quality improvements.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
- 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Solid hands-on experience in EFA techniques: OBIRCH, EMMI, LADA, LVP, DLS, TIVA, etc.
- Proven Test Engineering experience, including ATE, SLT, and test program debug
- Strong knowledge of LVX (low-voltage/Vmin/Fmax characterization, shmoo) methods.
- Strong understanding of quality and reliability metrics (DPPM, RCCA cycle time).
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer-facing skills.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Familiarity with physical failure analysis (PFA) techniques is a plus.
- Understanding of SoC development and test flows (DFT, DFD, ATE pattern debug, yield learning)
- Experience in field return debug and customer issue resolution.
In Return:
Based in Taiwan, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative, and driven team, and provides a genuine opportunity to craft the best outcomes for Arm.
