Software Engineer Intern - CE Software

ARM is looking for interns to join our Galway office. The team in Galway builds software that allows Arms partners to quickly create performant, low power products based on Arm IP. Join us on our Global Internship Program.

We work in small to medium-sized teams with most following modern Agile principles. Engineers share ideas and add to the ideas of others, document and present their work for discussion, review and support the efforts of others, whilst sharing their findings impartially and authoritatively. 

What you could be doing as an Intern?

• Working on solutions that will make use of your existing knowledge and skills, whilst also requiring you to learn something new. This could be a new language, an internal codebase or a new API. 

• Overcoming a variety of different tasks to help teams hit their targets. These may involve improving and implementing new workflows, investigating new software, helping teams with design and verification of products etc.  

• Using your voice to provide knowledge, new insights and address problems independently. 

• Gaining from expertise and support throughout your placement. 

We are looking for individuals who:

You will need to be studying towards a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any other relevant subject. Other degree types may be considered with validated experience.

Qualities that will help your application stand out:  

Strong academic performance and programming ability – a strong academic record, particularly in relevant technical subjects, together with experience designing code in one or more programming languages and applying it to solve challenging problems.

• A genuine enthusiasm for computing – an interest in software and technology that extends beyond your academic studies.

• Curiosity and initiative – evidence that you explore, build or experiment with technology in your own time, whether through personal projects, hackathons, internships, open-source contributions or other activities.

• An interest in emerging technologies – curiosity about where technology is heading and an open mindset towards learning, experimenting and trying new approaches.

• Evidence of good analytical and communication skills – the ability to think through problems logically, explain your ideas clearly and work effectively with others.

Additional Information:

We offer 3-, 6-and 8-month placement opportunities. Our 6- and 8-month placements will begin in January 2027, while our 3-month placements will begin in June 2027.

Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree and be returning to your course after your internship/placement.
