Job Overview:


The Engineering IT group provides the high-performance compute environment that fuels product and solutions development for Arm's engineering community. Whether its high-performance compute (HPC) on Arm’s on-prem infrastructure and/or in the cloud, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, or customised software tools and workflows, the products, and services we deliver are used by every engineer in Arm.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with technical leads, managers, and project teams to support and evolve HPC infrastructure tailored for semiconductor design workflows.
  • Leverage strong Linux system administration skills and scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.) to automate routine tasks and optimise engineering environments.
  • Administer and tune job schedulers like IBM Spectrum LSF to ensure efficient workload management across hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical issues through ticketing systems, proactively finding opportunities to automate and improve recurring tasks.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data centers, using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, and Ansible.
  • Act as a key technical contributor on high-profile infrastructure initiatives, driving service resilience, scalability, and the adoption of emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong expertise on IBM Spectrum LSF administration and any other cloud-based HPC deployments.
  • Deep technical knowledge in handling large distributed linux systems.
  • Experience working with network storage solutions such as NetApp, Lustre, Weka, LakeFS, etc.
  • Experience in networking technologies and services such as load balancing, DNS, packet tracing and debugging, etc.
  • Deep understanding of LDAP implementations such as Oracle Unified Directory (OUD), OpenLDAP, Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID and Kerberos authentication.
  • Hands-on experience in automated infrastructure provisioning using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions to Cloud (AWS, GCP, and Azure) and familiarity with AIOps platforms like Dynatrace or Datadog.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Experience or relevant specialist certifications in infrastructure automation Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and/or Continuous Integration (CI) applications.
  • Knowledge on HPC applications like Flex based Licenses, EDA tools.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Automation, Jira, and Confluence experience).
