Job Overview:
We are building a modern, cloud-native compute orchestration platform to support large-scale, compute-intensive engineering workloads. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering a highly scalable, reliable, and observable system, with a particular focus on software development and performance testing.
This role is critical in ensuring the platform can meet the demands of engineering teams across diverse workflows, including simulation, verification, and backend compute pipelines.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn and expand your skills working with a complex engineering platform!
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain core components of the platform using cloud-native technologies.
- Lead efforts around performance benchmarking, load testing, and scalability validation.
- Define and enforce SLAs; work with SRE/DevOps to ensure high availability and observability.
- Tune platform performance under high-throughput workloads and lead capacity planning.
- Automate and execute stress/load tests using both synthetic and real workload profiles.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural direction and code quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, tools, and FinOps teams to ensure the platform remains efficient and cost-effective.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Backend or platform software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or another modern systems language.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture (e.g., Kubernetes, Serverless, containers, microservices).
- Hands-on experience with load testing frameworks (e.g., Locust, JMeter, k6) and system profiling tools.
- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and IaC tools (Terraform, Helm, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and production support practices.
- Proven experience monitoring production systems, designing actionable alerts, and improving reliability through observability (metrics, logs, tracing).
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Experience with workload orchestration or job scheduling systems (e.g., AWS Batch, Slurm, LSF).
- Exposure to compute-intensive domains such as EDA, HPC, or large-scale simulation.
- Knowledge of FinOps practices or cloud cost optimization.
- Contributions to highly available production systems with defined SLAs.
In Return:
In return, you’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team where your work will have a direct impact on shaping a modern, cloud-native compute platform. We offer a flexible work environment, opportunities for continuous learning, and the chance to solve complex technical challenges at scale. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues and empowered to grow both technically and professionally. Competitive compensation and benefits are part of the package.

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution.
