Arm is seeking an engineer to become part of our hardware applications engineering group located in Budapest, Hungary. Applications Engineers offer technical assistance and training to customers globally, working on the development of the latest products featuring Arm CPU and System IP.
Job Overview:
Applications Engineers help Arm’s partners working on innovative technology to develop the best possible SoC combining Arm CPUs and System IP. This role is varied and highly technical. You will apply your expertise and interpersonal skills to mentor partners on IP integration, configuration, and performance. You will investigate issues, find solutions through RTL simulations, and clearly communicate your results.
Working with customers means understanding their goals. You will analyze their requests and issues and provide solutions that help them progress. Every day brings new technical challenges across various products.
Responsibilities:
- Offer quick and accurate replies to partner questions related to Arm CPU & System IP
- Prepare and facilitate technical training workshops on CPU & System IP, delivered onsite and remotely
- Perform customer SoC build reviews using ARM IP and provide functionality and optimization recommendations
- Work with Arm IP build and product management teams to improve partners' experience and influence IP feature development
- Test IP deliverables and provide feedback to the build team prior to release to customers
- Build and modify web-based knowledge base articles and application notes
- Develop tools and techniques to aid Application Engineers solve problems more efficiently
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- BSc Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering (ECE) or equivalent experience
- Excellent understanding of HDLs such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
- Very good knowledge of CPU architecture principles and SoC build principles
- Ability to use RTL simulation tools for debugging purposes
- Proficiency with Questasim, Verdi, Cadence Simvision, and Xcelium
- Capacity to collaborate with distributed teams
Nice to have Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of one or more AMBA bus protocols
- Knowledge of the Arm Architecture
- Knowledge of System Coherency concepts
- Knowledge of PCIe, CXL, and/or UCIe specifications
