This is an exciting time to join the Arm Procurement team. We are in the middle of a significant transformation, building a growing team and investing at the forefront of Procurement and AI technology. We are looking for an energetic and commercially savvy Procurement Category Manager to join our Technology Procurement team.
This role will focus on key areas of Technology Infrastructure and Datacenter procurement at Arm, covering the equipment, services and solutions that underpin our technology environment. You will have the opportunity to shape category strategies, lead complex and high value sourcing activity, and develop strategic relationships with some of the world’s leading technology suppliers.
You will work closely with Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal, and other collaborators. Your role is to bring market insight and commercial expertise. This will help Arm make effective long-term technology and infrastructure decisions. The role will balance strategic category development with hands on delivery across a fast moving and evolving technology landscape.
As Arm continues to evolve and grow, the role may also support adjacent technology categories and other procurement priorities.
Responsibilities
- Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies, bringing together spend, supplier, market and demand insights to find opportunities and build an executable pipeline of activity.
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end sourcing activity including market assessment, supplier selection, competitive tendering, negotiation and contracting.
- Commercial Management: Identify and apply commercial strategies to deliver best value for Arm, considering demand, competition, commercial models, commitments, flexibility, service levels, risk and total cost of ownership.
- Market Intelligence: Develop a strong understanding of relevant market dynamics, emerging technologies, supplier capabilities and commercial trends, translating these insights into category and sourcing strategies.
- Supplier Management: Build and uphold strategic supplier relationships, driving commercial performance, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Partner Management: Build strong relationships across Engineering, IT and other functions, providing commercial guidance, constructively exciting requirements and influencing decision-making.
- Responsible Sourcing: Identify supply and supplier risks and appropriate mitigating actions, while ensuring suppliers are aligned with Arm’s ESG objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Confirmed experience in Procurement and Category Management, including leading strategic sourcing activity
- Strong experience in Technology Infrastructure procurement, with demonstrated commercial and category expertise across relevant infrastructure technologies and services, and experience supporting Datacenter environments.
- Experience developing and implementing category strategies and translating them into executable sourcing pipelines.
- Strong commercial competence with a track record of identifying and applying commercial levers to deliver value beyond headline price.
- Consistent record of leading complex end-to-end sourcing and negotiation activities.
- Background in crafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.
- Ability to understand sophisticated technical and business requirements and translate them into effective commercial strategies.
- Strong collaborator leadership skills, with experience partnering with and influencing technical and senior collaborators.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong communicator who is highly inclusive and collaborative.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
- Strong direct experience in Datacenter and colocation procurement, including associated infrastructure systems and services.
- Broader Technology Procurement experience across areas such as cloud, software, professional services, or other technology categories.
- Experience within the semiconductor, technology, or engineering sector.
- Experience working in complex global organization's and across international supplier markets.
- Ariba or other Source-to-Contract experience.
- Experience with procurement orchestration platforms such as Zip.
- MCIPS or other relevant procurement qualifications.
