About the AI Applications Team:
A small, freshly formed team with a very hands-on mission.
We take early work packages, SDKs, libraries, and tools, integrate them end-to-end, and turn them into something that actually runs on real hardware. Along the way, we close the gaps, finish the missing pieces, and provide direct, practical feedback to the teams building the technology.
We also build our own reference applications and demos that act as realistic examples, prove ideas, expose issues early, and show what’s possible on the edge!
What you could be doing as an Intern
Interns work alongside experienced engineers as part of a development team at Arm’s office in Budapest. You'll have a dedicated mentor and work on tasks that support existing projects, as well as explore and prototype ideas for the future. You'll also receive mentorship and support from other team members and have the chance to work across all aspects of the software creation process.
- Integrating delivered components into working embedded systems
- Debugging firmware, drivers, and application-level issues
- Adapting and extending example code and reference designs
- Building internal demos and proof-of-concept applications
- Giving structured, technical feedback based on real usage
This is not a “watch from the sidelines” role. The work is hands-on, with plenty of opportunities to experiment, break things, fix them, and learn from the process.
We are looking for individuals who
Are currently studying towards a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in computer science, engineering or a related technical subject.
- Have a strong foundation in C++, and an interest in maintaining developer infrastructures.
- Are interested in developing software libraries, developer tools and applications for AI-powered perception on edge devices.
- Are comfortable communicating and collaborating in English within a small team
- Take a creative yet structured approach to problem-solving
- Have a genuine interest in computing and a strong desire to learn and develop their skills.
Qualities that will help your application stand out
- Experience with additional languages such as shell scripting, Python or Rust
- Experience integrating neural network models into applications
- Familiarity with neural network models, training, and application areas such as computer vision, LLMs, or audio
- Familiarity with Linux development environments and version control using Git
- Exposure to software testing, debugging and/or performance profiling
- Experience with any automation, DevOps and or CI/CD tools and frameworks
- Experience developing developer tools or example applications with command-line, terminal-based or graphical interfaces
Additional Information
We encourage early applications, as we review them on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a fixed-term internship (approximately 6 months, full time or part time, starting in 2027) designed for students who are in higher education and will be returning to their studies after the internship or placement.
Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the internship is based, without relying on sponsorship by Arm, for the full duration of the internship.
In Return
Working on interesting new projects with leaders in the field is exciting, but we also know how important it is to receive support. That's why throughout your internship, you can expect regular feedback and development opportunities, social activities to connect with your peers, an end of internship celebration, plus the opportunity to be *considered for future Graduate positions (*subject to performance). #getreadytogrow
