Overview
The Vice President of SoC Development is an executive responsible for developing high-volume, complex, SoCs on innovative nodes across multiple market segments including mobile, automotive, datacenter and networking, and IoT.
As part of a global functional matrix organization, this role will provide local leadership to all Solutions Engineering teams based in our Bangalore design center, SE’s largest hub worldwide. The role has accountability for advanced technology projects, collaborations with major foundries and EDA companies, DFT and test structures, packaging houses, post-silicon activities, quality assurance, and high-volume production ramp-up. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, a consistent record in high-impact high volume SoC projects delivery, and the ability to lead and inspire a large team as part of a global matrix organization.
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a world class and fast-growing team of Front-End design and verification engineers with the expertise and drive to develop best-in-class products with our partners
- Support the engagement and development of our entire Bangalore based SoC engineering team, regardless of functional reporting line, on our Bangalore site
- Ensure successful delivery, to spec, time and budget, of multiple parallel SoC deliveries, from architecture and front end to physical design and post-silicon – to include leading the high-volume production ramp with silicon partners, ensuring scalability, cost-effectiveness, and timely product delivery
- Work globally with R&D leadership and CAD teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements in chip development processes, such as automated design optimization and advanced simulation techniques. Manage budgets and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within cost constraints. Help identify critical cost functions and minimize/optimize them throughout the lifecycle of project development and productization
- Ensure the quality and robustness of the design and development flow, including rigorous reliability analysis and comprehensive QA protocols.
- Represent Arm at industry events and forums.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with significant leadership roles in SoC development on innovative nodes across multiple market segments
- Exceptional "leadership skills" with a history of building and motivating high-performing global teams.
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects with major foundries and EDA companies, focusing on advanced semiconductor process technologies, design methodologies, DFT strategies, post-silicon activities, and high-volume production ramp-up
- Proven track record of efficiency improvements and quality assurance in chip development processes.
- Proven track record of on-time, to-specification delivery of multiple complex projects in parallel
- Ability to influence at all levels, across engineering and business organizations internal and external to Arm, in their peer group, across strategy and execution
- Prepared to challenge the status quo constructively at senior level
- Strategic problem solver with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed
