Job Overview:

This role supports portfolio-aligned delivery teams to improve effectiveness and enable faster delivery of business value. You will help embed strong agile practices while contributing to the successful delivery of features and small change initiatives.

The role combines Scrum Master responsibilities with a focus on delivery outcomes, helping teams maintain momentum, navigate challenges, and achieve agreed goals.

You will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Product Owners, and technical teams to ensure work is prioritised in line with business and organisational strategy, actively handles, and delivered with a clear connection to value.

You will also help coordinate dependencies across teams, programmes, and the wider portfolio to support smooth and efficient delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies in a way that supports alignment, clarity, and significant progress
  • Coach and support delivery teams to improve predictability, pace, and ownership of outcomes
  • Contribute to the delivery of features and small change initiatives, helping ensure work progresses to completion
  • Collaborate with other teams to support and drive delivery, helping identify and address blockers
  • Identify and help resolve dependencies across teams and programmes
  • Support alignment of work with business priorities and strategic goals
  • Use delivery metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time) to find opportunities for improvement
  • Encourage teams to meet commitments while maintaining a focus on quality and sustainability
  • Provide clear and timely updates on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to interested parties and customers
  • Support effective planning by maintaining well-defined and prioritised backlogs
  • Promote consistent and effective use of tools (e.g., Jira) to improve visibility and forecasting
  • Act as a connector across teams, helping ensure shared understanding of priorities and dependencies

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master or similar role supporting multi-functional technical teams
  • Experience supporting delivery of features or initiatives from planning through to completion
  • Experience working in environments with multiple priorities and dependencies
  • Understanding of how delivery outcomes align with business goals and value
  • Experience identifying and coordinating cross-team dependencies
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira (Data Centre), including JQL and dashboard/ report, including maintaining data quality and using metrics to support decisions
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at different levels and support constructive discussions
  • Analytical approach, with the ability to use data to guide improvements
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices/IT infrastructure environments
  • Strong analytical capability, proficient in Excel.
  • Good appreciation of and experience of automation and AI principles.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in identifying delivery improvements across multiple teams or at programme level!
  • Familiarity with value-based delivery, objectives and key results, and benefit tracking
  • Understanding of Lean principles, flow metrics, and throughput optimisation
  • Professional Scrum Master certification (PSM1 or equivalent)!
