Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Staff System and IP Architect with proven computer hardware architecture skills and experience with software tooling or modeling projects to join our Central Technology (CT) Systems team in Cambridge, UK or Austin, Raleigh, San Jose, USA. In this role, you will investigate strategic direction of our Infrastructure roadmap for coherent interconnect and memory system. You will help to define new, differentiated capabilities for our System IP and quantify the associated value proposition at the datacenter-level.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other CT System IP Architects to propose and evaluate candidate capabilities targeting the System IP roadmap
- Augment model/tooling that quantifies TCO and overall value proposition, while incorporating silicon-, rack-, and datacenter-level costs and specific deployment scenarios
- Collaborate with System IP execution teams to ensure smooth transition of vetted candidate capabilities into System IP products
- Collaborate with Solution Architects as they evaluate the value proposition in trading-off various solution-level integration choices
Required Skills:
- Fundamental understanding of shared caching/memory systems, including associated coherency and scalable transport within large-scale CPU/GPU/XPU processors
- Understanding of aspects impacting performance and power in such systems
- Experience coding in Python or similar scripting language
- Eagerness to grow in understanding of datacenter deployment scenarios and operations, as well as rack- and datacenter-level topologies
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Experience in execution of IP blocks (micro-architecture or RTL) or performance modeling, particularly with shared caching/memory systems or datacenter-focused processors
- Exposure to real hyperscale datacenter environments, including deployment scenarios, operations, or buildout of rack- and datacenter-level topologies
- Experience in a data scientist role, modeling sophisticated systems, processing large amounts of data to draw insights, and/or visualizing complex analysis results
In Return:
You will work together with the Arm Architects driving key technology forward that is behind the rapidly growing footprint of Arm in the datacenter, where the growth of AI workloads is providing further opportunities for high impact. The close relationships that we have now built with the key silicon, software, and cloud vendors in the world also provides a rich environment to gain the deep understanding that builds ongoing success, both for Arm and for you!
