Role Overview
Arm technology is becoming the platform of choice for compute and AI. The Arm System Engineering team’s mission is to architect, design, and develop server and rack-level infrastructure for at-scale datacenter deployments. The team capabilities span across system hardware, software, system interconnect, system management storage, data center infrastructure and performance engineering. The team responsibilities include customer engagements, technology selection, system design, network architecture, performance, and datacenter deployment & operations. The Arm System Engineering team is developing industry-leading technology to deliver innovative and high-performing solutions to power the data centers of the future!
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our project team delivering cutting-edge AI data center hardware. In this role, you’ll ensure product functionality and compliance with technical mechanical specifications. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical solution — from specification and design review through to testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and evaluate mechanical components for data center systems.
• Work with ODM vendors to manage specifications, development timelines, cost, quality, and technical compliance.
• Review mechanical designs and testing, offering clear direction and feedback to vendors.
• Collaborate with third-party suppliers to integrate product features effectively.
• Conduct DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and problem-solving reviews.
• Contribute to server mechanical design in areas like vibration, thermal, EMI, and acoustics.
• Support PCB layout, cable routing, thermal solutions, and mechanical packaging.
• Use PTC Creo for 3D design and documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience or equivalent experience in server mechanical and thermal design.
• Strong understanding of shock/vibration, thermal systems, liquid cooling, EMI, and acoustics.
• Proficient with PTC Creo and experienced in sheet metal and plastic part design.
• Background in designing complex, high-density, high-power systems with liquid cooling.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on rack-level hardware solutions.
• Skilled in root cause analysis, tolerance analysis, and FEA.
• Able to perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis.

Salary Range:
$241,100-$326,100 per yearWe value people as individuals and our dedication is to reward people competitively and equitably for the work they do and the skills and experience they bring to Arm.
