Job Overview:
Our Solutions Engineering Physical IP team comprises some of the industry’s leading experts in deep submicron circuit/memory design! We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical and Computer Engineering students pursuing their master's to work in our memory design teams. This position is a wonderful opportunity for you to work with our memory design team on innovative designs in advanced technologies!
Whatyou could be doing as a Physical IP Intern?
The successful candidate will work with a small team of expert integrated circuit design engineers to:
- Contribute in all parts of the memory development flow.
- Understand memory design and development in advanced technology (5 nm and beyond).
- Collaborate with memory design, layout, and software automation teams to build solutions that improve the design.
- Evaluate and apply proprietary design techniques, internally developed software tools, and externally supported EDA tools to implement design and verification methodologies.
- Perform spice simulation source for tuning and margining of circuits.
We are looking for individuals who:
Are currently enrolled and studying towards a Masters or PhD Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and are able to join our team for two consecutive semesters. Students will be considered if they have meaningful experience in circuit design and familiarity with SRAM design in course work. We love to talk with people who are curious, motivated, and eager to learn.
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Have an understanding of MOSFET electrical characteristics, transistor level device physics and VLSI design basics.
- Experience with transistor level spice simulators such as SPICE or Spectre.
- Programming and scripting skills in UNIX, Perl, Python, C++ or similar language.
- Ability to debug intricate issues and clearly summarize and report the status to colleagues.
- Good interpersonal skills with an analytical approach and adaptability and willing to learn how to use unfamiliar tools and systems.

This is a non-exempt hourly role which will be paid at an hourly rate based on the number of hours worked. Pay rates vary by location and educational level.
