Role Overview
We are seeking an Emulation/Benchmarking Engineer to join our CPU Performance team in Austin or Raleigh. In this role, you will focus on enabling performance verification and analysis using advanced emulation platforms. You will play a key role in bringing up new workloads, supporting partner engagements, improving infrastructure, and ensuring robust regression and analysis capabilities to guide Arm’s next-generation CPU designs.
Responsibilities
As part of the CPU Performance Emulation/Benchmarking sub-team, you will be accountable for:
· Platform Enablement:
o Bring up new platforms on emulation for performance verification and analysis.
o Confirm functional correctness of workloads brought up on emulation platforms.
· Performance Tracking & Support:
o Execute regular performance regressions and track results.
o Run emulation experiments to support design explorations.
o Perform emulation runs to address partner requests and technical support.
· Analysis & Triage:
o Analyze and interpret emulation results, identifying performance regressions and triaging issues.
o Carry out power measurements and evaluations on emulation platforms.
· Infrastructure & Automation:
o Maintain and enhance emulation continuous integration (CI) to enable designers to explore performance autonomously.
o Improve emulation infrastructure for enhanced analysis, triage, and automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
· 4+ years of relevant experience in CPU hardware, verification, or performance engineering.
· Experience with emulation platforms (e.g., Palladium, Veloce, Zebu) including model bring-up, workload enablement, debugging, and performance tuning.
· Strong understanding of CPU microarchitecture and performance verification methodologies.
· Familiarity with C, C++, Python, and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
· Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
· Ability to debug hardware issues from waveforms, logs, and trace dumps.
· Experience in building workloads for pre-silicon environments is a plus.
· Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) to improve automation, testing, and integration is a plus.

Salary Range:
