A significant part of Arm’s work in Lund involves developing our Neural Processing Units (NPUs). These are processors designed to run Machine Learning neural networks on edge devices, such as a smartphone or even smaller. This technology is still in its early stages, with many ideas yet to be explored. We invite you to join us on this journey and contribute through your thesis project!
Whatyou could be doing as a Master Thesis Student?
Below is a list of our current project offerings within Machine Learning Software:
- Speculative decoding for accelerating mixture-of-expert inference
- Reliable and efficient sustained LLM inference through the Vulkan ML Emulation Layer
- Memory- and performance-aware operator scheduling for Vulkan ML inference
We are looking for individuals who:
Are currently enrolled and studying towards a Masters Degree.
- Solid understanding of machine learning, neural networks and good maths' knowledge.
- Experience with programming in C/C++/Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as pytorch.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Affiliated with a Swedish university/college either directly or via an exchange program.
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Curiosity about machine learning and software development.
- Transformers and LLM architecture
- Passion for learning and creative problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail while understanding the bigger picture.
- Understanding of computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts.
