Job Overview:
Arm produces an extensive set of development, debug and telemetry tools designed to help customers achieve success in deploying our AGI CPU Platform. We are looking for an experienced software and tooling Application Engineer, based in our Taipei or Hsinchu office, to work with customers using our tools, with a particular focus on debug.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in software development, primarily gained creating and using software and system development tools for complex system bring-up and debug. The ideal candidate will have a background in server development.
The role involves working closely with customers from system bring-up through to mass production, and beyond. You will solve customer problems, deliver training, and provide value-add services, for example bring-up, or review. You will give feedback on your experience into product development and marketing teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and developed customer empathy are critical.
Required Skills and Experience :
- A Master's Degree or equivalent experience in an Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering subject is required.
- Multiple years in software tooling and platform development, preferably for servers
- Extensive knowledge of debug protocols, in particular JTAG; HW debug probes and developer debug environments
- Knowledge Developing and programming for multi-processing heterogeneous systems.
- Experience of Semiconductor bring-up: from power-on, firmware enablement and Full operating system boot
- Background in an application engineering group or working directly with customers
- Experience crafting and debugging software in C/C++ and assembly
- Experience in low-level debug
Additional Skills and Experience :
- Knowledge of the Arm ISA and system architectures, in particular Arm CoreSight debug Architecture
- Knowledge of hardware performance debugging or application performance debugging
