Job Overview:

You will be part of a team to design, validate, test and help to build a complex infrastructure stack for a high-performance and resilient Arm’s global engineering platform. You will enjoy a challenge doing research, development and testing of complete systems to a high standard.

Working in the Solution Architecture Team, which is part of the Arm Engineering IT department, we are responsible for ensuring that we have a confirmed understanding of both our engineering infrastructure and the engineering workflows that run on top of it, by applying a mixture of Software, DevOps, Data Engineering, Data Analytics and Data Visualisation disciplines to a variety of complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build and lead system integration processes to meet the engineering's needs.
  • Evaluate any project constraints and devise alternatives to reduce risks, whilst performing process re-engineering.
  • Analyse and find any impacts that technical changes may have on a business processes.
  • Empower development teams to increase their efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform continuous research on new technologies to stay updated with the best alternatives for the existing architectures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience implementing complex data and compute solutions at scale.
  • infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • Deep understanding of AWS or other cloud providers (e.g. GCP, Azure).
  • Strong understanding of key security technologies and protocols such as TLS, OAuth and SPIFFE.
  • Observability, alerting, metrics collection and visualisation (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Dynatrace).

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

We would be even more impressed if you are passionate about the following:

  • Cluster processes performance tuning and optimisation.
  • Migrating on-premises services to the cloud and running hybrids.
  • Container orchestration deployment, configuration, and administration. (e.g. Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
  • Automation and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Analytics infrastructure and tooling (e.g. Databricks, Apache Spark).
  • Technical leadership, championing standard methodologies, and leading technical product transformations.
