Director, Internal Events

Job Overview:
Are you an experienced and ambitious events professional? We’re looking for a creative, and strategic leader to craft the future of internal events at Arm. You’ll guide our high-performing team to design and deliver experiences that connect, inspire, and energise our people. This is a chance to lead with purpose, bringing our strategy and culture to life through memorable, people-first events.

Based at our Cambridge headquarters, this role reports to the VP of Internal Communications and Community (UK-based). You’ll be responsible for the internal events strategy and lead all aspects of a vibrant calendar of experiences that support Arm’s vision. You’ll collaborate with teams across the business to ensure our events are meaningful, inclusive, and seamlessly delivered.

You’ll combine critical thinking with hands-on leadership - balancing creativity, commercial awareness, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the vision: Lead and evolve our global internal events' strategy, aligning it with business priorities and our people experience goals.
  • Lead the team: Encourage, grow, and support a team of event professionals—fostering creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver with impact: Lead all aspects of the planning and execution of Arm’s internal events' portfolio, ensuring every experience is memorable, inclusive, and well-managed.
  • Collaborate widely: Work with senior leaders, Internal Communications, the Global Events Team, People Team, and other partners to align on goals and outcomes.
  • Champion innovation: Stay on top of emerging trends and technologies—especially AI—to keep our events fresh and future-ready.
  • Handle resources: Lead on budgeting, governance, and vendor relationships - including forecasting, reporting, and contracts.
  • Prioritise experience: Lead the end-to-end delegate journey, from branding and experience design to post-event evaluation and feedback.
  • Mitigate risk: Ensure risk is proactively managed across the portfolio.
  • Mentor and support: Encourage a strong feedback culture within the team, with regular check-ins, clear goals, and ongoing development.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end global event leadership, with experience leading a team.
  • Experience in running multi-million pound budgets ($5m +)
  • A consistent track record of strategic global event planning and delivery at scale, including budget ownership and engagement with senior leaders
  • Strong commercial skills
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Outstanding project management, prioritisation, and decision-making capabilities.
  • A confident and curious attitude, with the ability to challenge the status quo and think creatively under pressure
  • Willingness to travel to global event locations

In Return:
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of internal events at a global organisation and inspire thousands of people around the world. If you're a creative leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, we’d love to hear from you.
