Job Overview:
We are looking for a Developer Content Engineer to join our Developer and Platform Enablement team at Arm. We create practical resources that help software developers successfully use Arm technologies.
Interested in a role that combines hands-on engineering, continuous learning and technical content development? Our Developer Content Engineer will work across a wide range of computing domains, working with engineers and subject-matter experts to turn complex topics and instructions into clear, practical learning experiences.
Our work includes Arm Learning Paths, developer courses, code examples and other resources for developers. Previous professional experience as a technical writer isn't required. We are interested in people who combine strong engineering skills with an ability to explain technical ideas clearly, and work collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain technically accurate content for developers, such as Learning Paths, developer courses, code examples and other resources
- Work across different computing domains, developing the knowledge needed for each project and drawing on domain experts when appropriate
- Collaborate with engineers and other contributors across Arm, building effective working relationships, asking questions, seeking technical input and using their expertise to help create effective instructional content
- Use developer workflows and tools such as Git, GitHub and Markdown, alongside AI-assisted tools for research, development and maintenance
- Learn from developer needs and feedback to shape new educational resources and improve existing ones
- Connect with developer communities and represent our work at events and conferences where appropriate
Required Skills and Experience :
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Practical software and application development experience, with the ability to work confidently with code and developer tools
- Programming experience in at least one language, such as Python, C/C++ or JavaScript
- Confidence using developer environments and tools, including Linux, command-line tools and version control
- Ability to quickly build the technical understanding needed in unfamiliar domains, recognising when to investigate independently and when to seek expert input
- Demonstrated experience explaining complex technical concepts clearly and accurately, through professional work or published content such as tutorials, technical blogs, documentation or personal projects
- Strong written and interpersonal skills, curiosity and a collaborative approach
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
Experience creating tutorials, documentation, learning material, technical blogs or code examples would be valuable. We would also welcome experience with docs-as-code workflows, developer education, open-source communities, technical events or AI-assisted development and content creation.
If you're an engineer who enjoys discovering how things work and helping others understand them, we'd like to hear from you!
In Return:
We offer an unusual opportunity to combine engineering with continuous learning and communication. Our work spans technologies and developer communities, so there is always something new to explore.
We work with experts from across Arm and give people the space to investigate unfamiliar technologies, build their knowledge and find effective ways to share it. The result is a varied role where we can keep developing our own technical skills while creating resources used by developers around the world.
