TheGPU Continuous Improvement Manageris a newly created role within the Arm Graphics (GPU) team, reporting into the Operations Manager but with strong links to the Arm Quality team. You will lead Continuous Improvements across the GPU Product group (around 700 people, based in different locations).

The team develops Mali, the world’s #1 shipping Graphics Processor. The Mali series of multimedia processors offer graphics solutions to drive smartphones, Android based tablets and SmartTVs and has applications in mobile, machine learning, IoT, automotive, security, and embedded devices.

You will have the opportunity to lead improvements and drive operational excellence in one of the most impactful and collaborative technology companies, working closely with Operations and Engineering teams to prioritise and deliver a roadmap of continuous improvement initiatives across the GPU Organisation. Using your technical, leadership and people skills, you will drive improvements that meet and exceed the expectations of our team and partners. You are passionate about the development of others and demonstrate this through training and mentoring teams in the very latest quality methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement: continuous improvement leader for our GPU Product Group. This will involve collaborating with others to establish continuous improvement goals, objectives, and quality initiatives. You will lead the group's portfolio of continuous improvement projects (from concept through to delivery) and lead the group's Change Board. You will creatively promote continuous improvement and quality with energy and proactivity.

Project Delivery: lead continuous improvement teams, facilitate quality workshops (including retrospectives), and proactively identify (and remove) waste from core business processes.

Team Development: teaching, coaching, and mentoring of the GPU team, including the current Lean Six Sigma population (Green Belts and Yellow Belts), in the latest quality approaches e.g., Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, and PDCA

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience leading change and influencing at multiple levels.
  • A track record of leading successful continuous improvement in project teams.
  • Experience applying quality methodologies and tools to achieve business objectives in a large, global, multi-site organisation. Tools would likely include Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work.
  • Ability to teach, coach, and mentor team members in the latest methodologies & tools.
  • Excellent data analytics skills, including experience of statistical methods and data modelling (knowledge of a statistical software package is an advantage e.g., Minitab).
  • Experience leading quality initiatives & driving continuous improvement in an inclusive way.
  • Good people and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in quality, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and/or process excellence roles in large organisations across any sector(s)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt trained and certification (desirable)
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field
