Job Overview:

The Senior Linux Engineer will be responsible for follow-the-sun global operations and management of the on-premises as well as cloud Linux environments.

Working closely with team leads, team managers, project managers, and engineering teams across IT, you will be dedicated in automating, deploying, improving, maintaining and supporting various flavors of Linux OS and core infrastructure services in heterogeneous environment.

You’ll need to bring a positive teammate mentality, hardworking, enthusiastic, self-starter and flexible attitude in applying different techniques to help drive successful outcomes.

You are also encourage to bring fresh thinking, ideas, and passionate about automation & transformation.

You thrive working across geographical and cultural boundaries and will travel as appropriate to other arm sites as/when needed; sometimes at short notice.

Responsibilities:

Support our hybrid Linux environments, the automation, deployment, and maintenance of a Linux servers and instances.

Our goal is to automate the server provisioning process to reduce the effort on our Linux operations team.

This position will have a solid focus on using products like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Foreman, Github, Gitlab.

Own the end-to-end delivery pipeline including source code management, versioning/tagging strategy, test automation tooling, acceptance and deployment.

This role requires availability to support US time zones, with at least 4–6 hours of daily overlap.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4 - 8 years of working experience is required.
  • Expertise in OS deployment process of physical machines, automate & improve the process for efficiency!
  • Expertise in core services and functions like DNS, DHCP, HAProxy Load Balancer, OUD/LDAP, SMTP, Puppet/Terraform/Ansible.
  • Must have solid grasp of HPC technologies including Linux systems, storage platforms, network switching/routing, and security infrastructure within a physical and virtualized platform.
  • Build, deploy and maintain standard or custom Images, using AWS AMIs or using automated provisioning / configuration management of sophisticated multi-tier environments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Puppet.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing AI-driven automation solutions to optimise system performance, improve monitoring, and reduce operational incidents.

Nice to have Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the technology sector would be helpful.
  • Knowledge transfer and skill up others in the team!
