Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Platform Engineer to join the Engineering IT organization. In this role, you will contribute to the development, operation, and continuous improvement of Arm’s Hybrid Cloud platform, enabling engineering teams to deploy and run workloads seamlessly across public and private cloud environments.
Working alongside expert platform engineers, you will automate, improve platform reliability, and support the operation of Kubernetes-based infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about cloud-native technologies, infrastructure automation, large-scale distributed systems, and is looking to develop expertise in Kubernetes and platform engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Arm’s Kubernetes platform service, built using open source and commercial tools.
- Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of Kubernetes environments.
- Develop automation and tooling to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.
- Assist with platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
- Fix platform issues and support incident resolution activities.
- Collaborate with engineering users to understand infrastructure and workload requirements to develop and deliver critical capabilities.
- Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD automation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain user documentation and operational procedures.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code practices, with hands-on experience using Terraform, Ansible, and programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
- Deep understanding of Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.
- Experience working in software development environments, version control, and CI/CD concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Curious and willingness to learn new and evolving technologies and fast experimentation and prototyping.
- Experience is automated deployment of infrastructure services on public and private cloud environment.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Docker or containerized applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud!
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS!
