Job Overview:

To provide this we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Higher Performance Compute to lead the team in running and optimizing our high-performance computing (HPC) systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HPC systems, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving technological advancements and strategic innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HPC team to ensure the efficient and optimal operation of our globally distributed hybrid hosted HPC systems & environments.
  • Lead and coordinate the design, implementation, maintain, and improve our HPC systems to support the organization's computational needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, and other customers to optimize HPC applications and workflows.
  • Automate all facets of the existing HPC on-prem and cloud environments, embracing an automation first approach going forward.
  • Develop and implement strategies for HPC system performance tuning and optimization.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of HPC systems, applications, and data.
  • Monitor system performance and make vital adjustments to ensure efficient performance.
  • Deliver training and support to users to enhance system usage.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest HPC technologies and industry trends.
  • Document system configurations, updates, and procedures for reference and auditing purposes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and maintaining HPC systems including expert knowledge of IBM LSF.
  • Solid understanding of HPC hardware and software environments both on-premise and in cloud.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Experience operating HPC environments at scale in both Cloud and On-Prem clusters
  • DevOps or Development/Automation experience
  • AIOps' experience!
