Director - People M&A, Strategy and Programmes

Job purpose

There has never been a more exciting time here at Arm. We’re going through a significant period of change and growth in pursuit of our refreshed business strategy that underpins everything that is artificial intelligence (AI)!

This change will take many forms, including restructuring projects, building new capabilities, acquiring and integrating new teams, opening new offices, and other engagement initiatives that support our people to deliver the best work of their careers, whilst at the same time developing inclusive communities. This person will partner alongside People Leadership to support the overall People Group strategy and planning process, including helping define our strategy, implementing ways of working, and tracking progress. This role will also lead change projects including M&A, which will be a significant part of the role! The ideal candidate will therefore have experience of the people function, significant project management skills, and will have led People M&A workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HR due diligence and integration activities for M&A projects, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for specific M&A transactions to assess cultural alignment, identify potential risks, and develop integration plans
  • Work across the People Group and wider Arm teams to successfully design and implement the People plan for M&A activities including organizational design, grade levelling and future reward proposition

Organizational Change Projects

  • Work closely with People Enablement, People Business Partners and the wider People Group to deliver complex organizational changes or initiatives
  • Design and implement change management strategies to support organizational transformations and our community. Strive to understand risks, dependencies and issues, capturing key actions and responses and ensuring follow up
  • Anticipate the needs of our people and act as a point of contact where needed. Work alongside the People Enablement Managers and other forums (such as Works Councils) to ensure we consider all requirements
  • Measuring the success of projects and applying a robust approach to ensure that learning is collected and shared to inform future approaches.

Strategy and Planning:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the people group strategy and priorities, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
  • Responsible for People Group coordination and participation in key operational processes such as the Quarterly Business Review.
  • Responsible for the quarterly planning process and supervising progress against our strategic and in-year goals

What we are looking for in this role

  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic initiatives and driving organizational change including M&A, restructuring, and other complex change projects
  • High attention to detail and proclivity for planning and coordinating across complex workstreams.
  • A teammate who deeply appreciates the power of collaboration and builds positive relationships to work excellently with others.
  • Curiosity, the ability to ask incisive questions that help us to get to the heart of the matter
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – adaptable and skilled at stepping into situations Arm has not faced before and collaborating with the experts in their respective fields to “find a way”.
  • Resilient in an environment of challenging priorities and high velocity of work

In Return:

You will be a key part of the growth and scaling journey of a remarkable company that is shaping the future of compute and AI. You’ll enjoy our remarkable collaborative and fast-paced culture where the best and brightest talents challenge each other every day to do great things.
